Overview
Wellphases is a personal wellness companion for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. Your privacy is fundamental to our design — your health data stays on your device.
What Information We Handle
Stored locally on your device (never stored on our servers):
- Health information you share in conversation (symptoms, diet, sleep, mood, exercise, menstrual cycle)
- Sleep and workout data you choose to sync from Apple Health or Health Connect
- Extracted health patterns and data
- Your profile information (name, age, menopause stage)
Sent to third-party AI service providers to generate responses:
- Chat messages you send to the AI assistant
- Relevant recent wellness context from your device — such as your recent tracking entries, recurring patterns, and daily summaries of synced sleep and workout data — so that responses, letters, and reports can be personalized
These transmissions do not include personal account identifiers. The AI service provider receives only the text needed to generate a response — not your name, device ID, or other account-level information.
How AI Responses Work
When you send a message, it is transmitted to a third-party AI service provider to generate a response. These providers process your message in real time to produce a reply.
We select AI service providers that meet the following requirements:
- Enterprise-grade data handling and security practices
- Contractual commitments not to use customer input data for their own model training
- Data processing limited to the purpose of generating responses to your messages
The specific providers used may vary by region and language to ensure the best experience. We operate a relay service that forwards your messages to the AI provider; it does not store or log your conversation content. Apart from this relay to AI service providers and the anonymous purchase information described under “Payments and Purchases” below, your data is not transmitted anywhere.

Device Health Data (Apple Health and Health Connect)
If you choose to turn on health sync — it is optional and off by default — Wellphases reads sleep and workout data from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android).
- Read-only. Wellphases never writes to or modifies your Apple Health or Health Connect data.
- Stored locally. Synced data is saved on your device in encrypted storage, alongside your other tracking data. It is not stored on our servers.
- How it is used. Daily summaries of your synced sleep and workouts may be included in the wellness context sent to AI service providers, solely to personalize your responses, letters, and reports — nothing else.
- Never shared further. Health Connect and Apple Health data is never sold, never shared with advertisers or any other third party, and never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than the wellness features described in this policy.
- Your control. You can turn health sync off at any time in Settings, and delete all synced data via Settings → Delete All My Data or by uninstalling the app.
Data Storage and Security
- All health data and chat history are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage
- We do not operate servers that store your personal health information
- We do not have access to your health data
Payments and Purchases
Pro purchases are processed by the channel you buy through — the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe (for purchases made on our website or in the direct-download app). We never see or store your card number or bank details; payment information is handled by these processors under their own privacy policies.
To connect a purchase to your app, we use:
- RevenueCat (purchase management): receives a random, anonymous app identifier and purchase status — no name, no email, no health data — solely to unlock Pro features in your app.
- Stripe (web payments): the same anonymous identifier (or the Support ID you enter at checkout) is attached to your payment as a reference, so we can unlock Pro for the right app installation.
Your health data and conversations are never shared with payment providers.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell your data to anyone
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- We do not use your data for marketing purposes
- The only third parties that receive any of your data are AI service providers (conversation text and wellness context, solely to generate responses) and the payment and purchase-management providers described above (anonymous purchase information only)
Third-Party Service Providers
To deliver the AI companion feature, we work with third-party infrastructure and service providers. These providers are selected for their enterprise-grade security practices and contractual data protection commitments.
We require all third-party providers to:
- Process data only for the specific purpose of providing services to Wellphases
- Maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures
- Not use your data for their own purposes, including model training
- Comply with applicable data protection laws
Your Consent
Before sending any message to the AI assistant, Wellphases will ask for your explicit consent to transmit your messages to a third-party AI service provider for processing. You may withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the chat feature.
Your Control Over Your Data
- Delete anytime: You can delete all your data from within the app at any time via Settings → Delete All My Data
- Uninstall: Removing the app removes all locally stored data

International Data Transfers
Depending on your language settings, your chat messages may be processed by AI service providers located in different jurisdictions. By using the chat feature, you consent to the transfer and processing of your messages in the jurisdiction where the relevant AI service provider operates. We select providers that maintain security and data protection standards consistent with applicable law.
Law Enforcement
Since data is stored only on your device and encrypted, we have nothing to provide. Our AI service providers may have their own obligations under applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
Wellphases is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
